A bumper can look simple, but behind the plastic skin there may be brackets, sensors, grilles and impact structures. Good photos help the calculator and specialist see whether the damage is paintwork, deformation, a crack or possible hidden damage.

1Why bumper photos matter more
With bumper damage, the difference between refinishing, repair and replacement can be large. Minor paint damage may be simple, while a crack or loose corner can require dismantling and parts.

2Photograph the fitment
Look at gaps between bumper, headlight, wing, tailgate or bonnet. If the bumper is out of line, clips or brackets may be damaged.
An angled photo along the bumper shows this much better than a close-up of the scratch only.

Keep headlights or rear lights visible for comparison.
3Sensors, grilles and lights
Modern cars often have parking sensors, radar, fog lights and grilles in or behind the bumper. If damage is near those areas, it should be visible.
Do not select only “bumper” if lighting, a sensor housing or grille is damaged as well. These extra parts influence the calculated price.
