How does the calculator price each damaged part?

Calculator guide · Pres Schadeherstel

The calculator prices every damaged part separately using the vehicle, selected body panel, repair action, combined work and possible replacement parts. The more completely and accurately the damage is entered, the closer the calculated price will be to the final repair price.

  • Around 90% accurate on average
  • Overview per part
  • Specialist photo review

A concrete calculation in one minute

  • With complete and correct input, the calculated price is on average about 90% aligned with the final repair price in our practical experience.
  • Every selected part and repair action directly affects the amount.
  • Photos allow a specialist to verify that the input matches the visible damage.
  • The largest differences arise from omitted damage, a damage level selected too low or hidden technical damage.

The five building blocks of the calculated price

1. Vehicle

Make, model and vehicle type provide context for size, access and construction.

2. Body panel

A mirror cap, door, roof or bumper does not require the same surface or process.

3. Repair action

Dent repair, preparation, refinishing, replacement and dismantling involve different work.

4. Combination

Adjacent panels may be planned within one repair and refinishing process.

5. Additional parts

Clips, trim, lights, sensors and other components may be required separately.

Why correct panel selection matters

Select only the parts that are actually damaged, but do not ignore adjacent damage. A scratch running from a rear door into a rear quarter involves two separate panels. Selecting only one makes the overview incomplete.

Avoid selecting multiple names for the same visible part. If uncertain, upload photos and let a specialist review the selection.

Repair, refinish or replace

Choice Meaning in the calculator Key point
Repair Work required to restore shape or surface Feasibility depends on material, location and deformation.
Refinish Preparation, paint build and finishing of the selected panel Colour, blending and adjacent panels may need review.
Replace Removal, installation and possibly refinishing of a replacement part Part price and availability are reviewed separately.
Remove/refit Taking off and reinstalling trim, lamps or components Broken mountings may only be found during dismantling.

What is combined repair work?

When several panels are repaired in the same order, some preparation and logistics overlap. This does not mean every extra panel is inexpensive; it means the total route can differ from several separate appointments.

Example

A damaged front and rear door on the same side are listed separately, while the calculator can still treat the request as one combined repair.

What the calculator cannot determine by itself

The calculator cannot see through a bumper, trim panel or body skin. It may also be unable to determine the exact part price, availability or technical condition from a photo. Possible replacement parts and hidden work therefore need review before the final quotation.

Modern vehicles may involve sensors, cameras or calibration. Mention warning messages and photograph affected sensor areas clearly.

Check your damage overview

Review every selected partDoes the name match the physical location?
Check the chosen actionIs there only paint damage, or also distortion, cracking or a loose part?
Add missing damageInclude scratches or dents that continue into adjacent panels.
Use photo review when uncertainA specialist can correct the selection before the final quotation.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the price differ between body panels?

Panels differ in size, shape, access, dismantling and required paint or repair work.

Is a replacement part price included immediately?

Work and parts are assessed separately. The exact amount depends on the chosen part and availability.

Should a small scratch be selected as a full panel?

Select the damaged panel. The repair choice and photos then determine how the damage is assessed.

Can I calculate several panels at once?

Yes. Add every damaged part so the calculator can show a complete overview and any combined work.
